Look at him go….

As Nate gets older, the worse we are at updating everything. I didn’t even blog Nate’s 6 month appt. At 6 months Nate is still in the 50th, 60th and 70th percentiles. The doctor noted how much Nathan was talking and thought he was an early talker. He was a very happy boy during the appt. He weighed a little over 19 lbs.

Nate now weighs a little over 20 lbs. Over the holidays while we were on the road for 2 weeks visiting family Nate would rock on his hands and knees often. We thought any day now he is going to crawl. Well that day has come and gone. Last week (Wed.) Nathan crawled for the first time. He crawled for Scott. It was slow in the beginning, but now when Nathan see something he wants he will crawl across the room for it. We definately need to babysafe everything now. Even more, Nate can stand for a few minutes while holding on to something. He has even pulled himself up. Last night he was in his crib. We haven’t worried about pulling the side up b/c there has been no concern. Now we need to be concerned. After just a few minutes alone, Scott walked into the room to find that Nate had pulled himself up in his crib and he was standing! Crawling is one thing, but standing is a whole nother thing. I didn’t he would start 2 new things so close together. B/c he doesn’t have the best balance we have to make sure we are close by so he doesn’t fall backwards.
Nate is now eating mostly solids. He only breastfeeds at snack times and at night. Last weekend we spent an evening making babyfood. We still purchase some of our food from Gerber, but he is now getting homemade sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, peas, carrots, chicken and hopefully by tonight I will have made green beans. He loves to suck on apple slices and eat cheerios. He can’t quite grab his own cheerios, but he makes valiant efforts. He can’t figure out how to get them from inside his fist to his mouth.

So that is the update with Nate. His 2 top teeth have been attempting to come in for a couple weeks now. They have currently taken a hiatus from movement. They are at the point that once they move, it wouldn’t take much for them to break through the gum line.
We can’t wait, b/c these two teeth have been quite a bit more painful than the bottom ones when they came in.
