Booth/Brewery Instructions
"SHEEEEEEIT! When I heard this phat beer bust was going on again this year, I tore my ticket to the Great Taste of the Midwest clean UP! See ya’ll there Diggity D…out."
- Mayor Dave "Diggity D" Cheslevich
As before, we again ask everyone to bring a sampling of beer and if everyone could bring approximately 6 beers per individual. As before, it would be nice to have about 3 samples per type of beer. Some people have expressed an interest in bringing their own home brews, those are (of course) welcome, but knowing that not everyone brews beer it is not required. The idea is to have as many different kind of beers to sample as possible. Again, I will ask people to pair or group with others and pick a certain kind of beer (pilsner, wheat, stout, etc.) Again you can get into it as much or little as you want. Each pairing or group is expected to come up with a brewery name, and alternate mock names for the beers you bring. As part of your ‘brewery’ feel free to get creative in setting up your booth, most used a folding table and some sort of sign allowing others to know what kind of beer your table is offering. A few ideas from last year (click the photo below for additional pictures from last year):
- Scott made up a brewery name for our table and made labels to hand out (a common practice at ‘official’ beerfests).
- Jon and Katie had a “beer tent”.
- Carissa brought a variety of non-alcoholic sodas/drinks.
Also, If you have your glass from last year and can bring it, please let me know. After I hear from you, I will then decide if I have enough extra glasses or if I will have to make more.
Please RSVP yourself and what type of beer your group plans on bringing (If you prefer, you can use the comment feature below to let us and others know what your bringing). And feel free to forward this invite to any other fellow beerlovers. As always if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact either Angie or Scott or you could also post your question below for us to answer.

I’m hoping to make it, but may be out of town that weekend. I’ll know more in September.

Sounds great! We’ll be there with the two kids and at least one home brew — a cherry weiss that just started bubbling last night and, if I get my act together, a nice fresh hard cider.

We can’t make it.
We’re hoping to make it to our Goshen 5 year Class Reunion that weekend…that is if I can tear Andy away from the field and/or house construction. Have a great time and please save some labels for us!

Does the homemade beer have to taste good?

No (but preferrably yes)
