I’ll have to spend more time looking at this site later…
One of these days I really should try to do this just to see how well it works. … I have lots of neighbors.
WEP: Dead Again, Part 1
I was surprised this morning to find a post to Senator Herb Khol, in reference to an article I read on CNET. I found out about the article through Slahsdot, and as is often the case, its interesting to read many of the comments shared in relation to the story and reading people’s reactions to what the Patriot Act represents.
Update: Not that I would move there, but the Free State Project seems interesting.
I like WordPress primarily because its something that I’m a little more comfortable with and the degree of customization. One tricky aspect I’ve already noticed is that if you have made any custom modifications to the application or its files to get a particular plugin/extra feature to work you’ve got to keep track of it somewhere so that when an upgrade is performed, you’re not overwriting a collective of work that’s been performed getting to that point. Still it seems really cool to be able to use many of the features that are provided. I still want to try the email posting option, and I’m really interested in its potential for integration with Gallery. I’ve only begun to play around with trying to get set up the connection between those two. I’m trying to use the new version, v2, that’s out on beta 3, which is really slick when compared to the old version.
Just installed an email notification plugin that’s similar to what I had when I was using moveabletype.
This is kinda of interesting.

Hooray! For the moment efforts by the MPAA to establish a broadcast flag that could be used to prevent normal use of digital broadcasts has been stopped. And here I was looking forward to getting the pressure to build my own DVR using one of these.
Update: So in thinking about this one a little more, all the article and other information suggests is that the MPAA is merely (potentially) losing the current bill its taken. Their overall effort to put into place some control measures for digital content will most likely still attempt to be pushed forward through other bills later.
